Water Treatment Plant Responsibilities
As part of operating the water treatment plant, in accordance with state and federal drinking water standards, the city water treatment plant staff performs the following tasks:
- Maintain on-site water storage capabilities including the ground storage tank
- Maintain plant equipment in accordance with all applicable state and federal standards
- Maintain pumps to distribute clean, safe drinking water to the distribution system
- Maintain water intake line from Rainy River
- Submit testing documentation to the State of Minnesota for review and audit Consumer Confidence Report Water filtration and water treatment
- Water quality assurance and water quality testing by city staff, independent labs, and the State of Minnesota
